 The 2016 Dodge Charger remains to offer a large dose of fun, along with family sedan practicality.

The Charger got a redesign in 2015, which updated the styling all over. The new Charger kept the same dimensions as the previous model, but the exterior styling changed significantly with a thinned out crosshair grille and new headlight clusters with LED daytime running lights. The front bumper and LED fog lights were also been updated, and the hood is now made of aluminum to save weight. Moving to the rear, the Charger keeps the “racetrack” taillights, mounted above dual exhaust pipes that are integrated into the rear fascia. There are also no less than 14 wheel options available to customize the Charger’s look.

There are many varieties of the Charger to choose from, including the SE, SXT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and the king of them all, the SRT Hellcat. Engine options include a V-6 and a few different V-8s. Standard is a 292-hp, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. For those who want more grunt, a 370-hp, 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 mated to the same transmission is also available. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while SE and SXT trim levels also offer all-wheel drive. The R/T Scat Pack and SRT 392 share a 485-hp, 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, but at the top of the heap is the SRT Hellcat and its 707-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8. SRT models also get better suspensions and more robust mechanical parts to deal with all that power.

Inside, the redesign brought improved materials and added technology, including a new 7-inch customizable screen in the instrument panel.  A five-inch screen that houses audio controls is standard, but all trims above the base SE get a larger 8.4-inch screen that comes with Uconnect and satellite radio. Standard features include USB ports, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, and cloth seating. Also available are leather upholstery, a navigation system, automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, and a Beats by Dre audio system.

The 2016 Charger also offers several safety technologies including a forward collision system with autonomous braking that activates in the event of an imminent collision, as well as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warnings, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors. Standard safety features include seven airbags, antilock brakes, hill-start assist, and electronic stability control.
